Umami Immunity Broth Recipe, for Dark Horse Organic
By Rachelle Robinett, RH (AHG) & Founder of Pharmakon Supernatural
"I make this savory broth especially in cool weather months and sip it throughout the morning. The nourishing, herbal ingredients are equally fortifying and satisfying. As with most of my recipes, I recommend brewing a big batch at once so it's always in-stock. That said, this one comes together quickly."
Ingredients
1/2 lemon, juiced
1 TBSP nutritional yeast
1/8 TSP sea salt
1 TSP herb of choice (I love astragalus and/or mushrooms in this recipe - chaga, reishi, any you love)
3 cups water (for a heartier version, use bone broth, ghee, or sesame oil)
1 clove garlic, minced
1 TSP raw white miso
1 TBSP Dark Horse Umami Bouillon (or powder)
1 TBSP Dark Horse Furikake
Optional:
Ginger, one-inch piece of fresh or 1 TSP dried
Turmeric, About 1 TSP
Cayenne, ~1/8 TSP
Directions
Add the lemon juice, nutritional yeast, sea salt, and herbs to a blender.
If using any of the optional additions, include them here.
Heat water to a just-drinkable, tea-hot temp. Add to your blender.
Blend on high speed for several seconds until combined.
Let broth cool slightly, then add the garlic, miso and umami bouillon to the blender.
Blend on high speed for a few more seconds, until garlic and miso is combined into the broth mixture.
Pour into a mug or thermos.
Top with Dark Horse Furikake and sip, chew, sip the toasty herbal goodness.
